About Maria Kaupas Academy

Maria Kaupas Academy is a school that provides a classical Catholic education for families sponsored by St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The Academy is comprised of the Lower School (K-6), Middle School (7-8), and the Upper School (9-12). As an educational institution, MKA is dedicated to cultivating the individual, and to reestablishing the Christian tradition by fostering a Christ-centered culture of people in daily awe at the wonders of Creation, and who recognize and seek out Truth.

Our mission is to offer a God-centered education, rooted in Truth and Beauty, that will prepare students to serve Christ through their families and communities, and which will help them discern their respective vocations.

Our motto, “God’s Servant First,” comes from the last words of St. Thomas More — "I die the King’s good servant, and God’s first" — and speaks to the hope we have for our students, the same hope Mother Kaupas had for her own: that they be God’s faithful servants first.

Maria Kaupas Academy is a school that provides a full classical Catholic homeschool curriculum for homeschooling families.
